T-Mobile Nederland heeft een zilveren Ecovadis score ontvangen in de meest recente ESG-audit die de telecomprovider jaarlijks laat uitvoeren. T-Mobile verbeterde de score van brons naar zilver ten opzichte van de vorige meting. Ecovadis is 's werelds grootste en een betrouwbare partner van duurzaamheidsbeoordelingen voor bedrijven, met een wereldwijd netwerk van meer dan 100.000 beoordeelde bedrijven.

Ecovadis beoordeelt bedrijven op vier thema’s: Duurzaamheid, Arbeid & Mensenrechten, Ethiek en Duurzaam inkopen. De zilveren Ecovadis Score laat zien dat T-Mobile Nederland deze thema's al op verschillende manieren succesvol heeft geïntegreerd in haar bedrijfs- en managementsystemen. De telecomprovider streeft ernaar om jaarlijks haar Ecovadis Score te verbeteren.

Verscheidenheid van onderwerpen 
In de beoordeling van Ecovadis werd T-Mobile Nederland geprezen om de verscheidenheid van onderwerpen die de telecomprovider in haar beleid heeft opgenomen. Vooral op het gebied van Duurzaamheid scoort T-Mobile ruim boven het gemiddelde van de telecomsector. Zo verbeterde T-Mobile Nederland het afgelopen jaar haar Ecovadis Score onder andere door te stoppen met het inkopen van nieuw plastic en de introductie van de Eco-SIM van 100% gerecycled PVC. Ook sloot T-Mobile in 2022 aan bij het Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) om haar duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen te laten verifiëren. Daarnaast committeerde T-Mobile zich in 2022 aan het Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC). Het JAC is de internationaal de toonaangevende vereniging van telecomproviders, ook bestaande uit onderlinge concurrenten, die samenwerken om sustainability standaarden in de gehele supply chain te verbeteren.

Ook op het gebied van Diversiteit en Inclusie zette T-Mobile afgelopen jaar grote stappen met een heldere strategie en doelstellingen. Zo ondertekende CEO Søren Abildgaard in september de charter diversiteit waarmee T-Mobile het belang onderschrijft van diversiteit en inclusie op de werkvloer en de prioriteit die zij daaraan geeft. Ook trok de telecomprovider het geboorteverlof van regenbooggezinnen recht met die van heterostellen. In 2021 introduceerde de provider al inwisselbare feestdagen.

Maatschappelijke Verantwoord Ondernemen
De telecomprovider integreert Maatschappelijke Verantwoord Ondernemen (CSR) volledig in haar bedrijfsstrategie en bedrijfsvoering en zet zich in om de processen zo duurzaam en toekomstbestendig mogelijk in te richten. Zo is in 2022 ook het inkoopbeleid aangescherpt met concrete duurzaamheidseisen voor leveranciers. Daarnaast vraagt T-Mobile Nederland haar leveranciers om ook een Ecovadis rating te verkrijgen en wordt er van leveranciers gevraagd deze jaarlijks te verbeteren. Gero Niemeyer, Chief Financial Officer van T-Mobile Nederland en een van de verantwoordelijken van het Duurzaamheidsprogramma: “We hebben wéér een nieuwe stap gezet in het behalen van onze duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen en het versterken van ons beleid ten aanzien van ESG. We hebben een duidelijke ambitie om onze Ecovadis score jaarlijks te verbeteren. Het realiseren van onze duurzaamheiddoelstellingen is dan ook echt een team effort met onze partners en leveranciers. Daarom ben ik er trots op dat veel van onze leveranciers deze reis met ons aangaan.”

T-Mobile Netherlands has received a silver Ecovadis score in the most recent ESG audit the telecoms provider commissions annually. T-Mobile improved its score from bronze to silver compared to the previous measurement. Ecovadis is the world's largest and a trusted partner of corporate sustainability assessments, with a global network of more than 100,000 assessed companies.

Ecovadis rates companies on four themes: Sustainability, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. The silver Ecovadis Score shows that T-Mobile Netherlands has already successfully integrated these themes into its business and management systems in various ways. The telecoms provider aims to improve its Ecovadis Score every year.

Variety of topics 
In Ecovadis' assessment, T-Mobile Netherlands was praised for the variety of topics the telecom provider has included in its policy. Especially in Sustainability, T-Mobile scores well above the average for the telecom sector. Last year, for example, T-Mobile Netherlands improved its Ecovadis Score by, among other things, stopping with buying new plastic and introducing the Eco-SIM made of 100% recycled PVC. T-Mobile also joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2022 to have its sustainability targets verified. In addition, T-Mobile committed to the Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC) in 2022. The JAC is the internationally leading association of telecom providers, also consisting of mutual competitors, working together to improve sustainability standards throughout the supply chain.

In the area of Diversity and Inclusion, T-Mobile also made great strides last year with a clear strategy and targets. In September, for instance, CEO Søren Abildgaard signed the diversity charter with which T-Mobile endorsed the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the priority it gives to it. The telecoms provider also straightened the birth leave of rainbow families with that of straight couples. In 2021, the provider already introduced redeemable holidays.

Corporate Social Responsibility
The telecom provider fully integrates Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into its business strategy and operations and is committed to making all its processes as sustainable and future-proof as possible. Similarly, in 2022 the procurement policy was tightened with concrete sustainability requirements for suppliers. In addition, T-Mobile Netherlands asks its suppliers to also obtain an Ecovadis rating and suppliers are asked to improve it annually.
